Welcome to our 5th Grade Recorder Karate unit!  We are going to have a blast learning more about music, becoming better performers, and earning recorder karate belts!  More information will follow but for now, here are the links to use for practicing the White Belt song (Hot Cross Buns).  Practice, practice, practice!!

For the test, you will play along with the fast version of the song.  Start by practicing the slow version and when you are able to play it with no mistakes, a steady beat, and a good tone, try the fast version!

Post 1:  Swartz Upper Elementary Christmas Sing-a-long

Hello students, parents, and friends!  I decided to create a blog so that I could communicate with the hundreds of music students I teach and their parents! Also I want to give my amazing music students more opportunities to take musical matters into their own hands and practice at home for our upcoming Christmas sing-a-long!

Below are links to the songs each grade is performing at the Christmas sing-a-long.  Each grade will perform a song by themselves and then all the students will sing a song together.  I know the kids are excited and have been asking about a way to practice at home.  Hopefully this will help!  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all (lsheppard@opsb.net).

Click on the correct link below to practice your song!
